Overview

Clarenta, formerly Comac Medical Group, is a European clinical development partner. The organisation traces its origins to Comac Medical, established in Bulgaria in 1997 as a family-owned clinical research company, and rebranded as Clarenta on 9 September 2026. It has also expanded through the addition of Leads To Development (L2D) and ILIFE Consulting.

• Clinical research consulting: Advisory support on development pathways, risk assessment and programme decisions from scientific, clinical, regulatory and operational perspectives.

• Early phase development: Early phase oncology trials, first-in-human studies, proof-of-concept studies and PK and clinical pharmacology studies.
• Non-clinical and CMC: Non-clinical development, CMC development and regulatory affairs, with L2D adding specialist non-clinical development, manufacturing and regulatory expertise.
• Phase I Unit: A dedicated unit in Sofia supporting studies in healthy volunteers and patients, with an on-site pharmacy and clinical laboratory.

Its largest team is in Bulgaria, with further teams in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, North Macedonia, Georgia, Poland, Romania and Turkey, and a business development presence in the United States.
