ITR Laboratories

ITR Laboratories is a leading nonclinical contract research organization providing GLP-compliant safety and toxicology testing services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide. Established in 1989, the organization operates a purpose-built 185,000 sq. ft. facility in Montreal with 86 animal rooms and 22 exposure rooms dedicated to inhalation toxicology.

Core Service Areas

In Silico Toxicology: AI-powered toxicity prediction platform supporting early-stage decision-making and project funding.

In Vitro Toxicology: Human-centric platforms including genetic toxicology, ADME, cardiac toxicology (hERG), and skin toxicology screening.

In Vivo Toxicology: Comprehensive studies across multiple routes of administration (oral/injection, infusion, inhalation, ocular, dermal, otology) with support for both small and large molecules.

Pathology Services: Full-spectrum clinical pathology, necropsy, and histopathology with ACVP-certified pathologists, including immunohistochemistry and specialized staining techniques.

Safety Pharmacology & Genetic Toxicology: Specialized testing across general toxicology, safety pharmacology, genetic and immunotoxicology.

Regulatory & Accreditation

ITR has been FDA, SCC, and EMA inspected. The organization maintains AAALAC and CCAC accreditation since 1993 with continuous accreditation for over 30 years. All studies are conducted under GLP compliance with computerized environmental control, backup systems, and online data collection.
